Spring at the San Francisco Opera Shop
The Spring Season at the War Memorial Opera house is upon us. Traditions in three of the greatest operas get a good jostling in their productions as well as sensational casting. We open on May 31 with RIGOLETTO, curses and all, with San Francisco favorite Quinn Kelsey in the title role. Mozart's immortal DON GIOVANNI follows to prove again that love is both comedy and tragedy. Ildebrando D'Arcangelo makes his much-anticipated San Francisco Opera debut in the title role. Finally, snow falls in the Summer of Love when Puccini's LA BOHEME opens in June; the most popular opera of all time in a gorgeous, vibrantly colorful production.
Please look at our current recommendations for each of these operas on CD, DVD and Blu-Ray on the product pages - and get familiar with the repertoire unfolding on state!
The Sixties are abundantly alive in three opulent posters designed by Oakland-based graphic artist Matt Leunig's commissioned for San Francisco Opera's Summer of Love season. Beautifully screen-printed in eye-popping colors, these vibrant original works riff on the posters that plastered the City in the 60's and will be available in 17" x 24" screen-printed poster, signed by Matt Leuning, for each opera - Don Giovanni, Rigoletto and La Boheme. Limited SIGNED AND NUMBERED quantities!
Look for summer tee shirts as well!
