The San Francisco Opera Shop joins the world community in confronting the threat posed by the corona virus by working for its future and the future of the collective human spirit of the arts. The Opera Shop's mission comports with San Francisco Opera's mission statement "to bring together growing audiences to experience opera’s transformative power". All proceeds from sales at the Opera Shop benefit San Francisco Opera directly and every sale is another step taken to keep the art of opera alive for all.
Despite the unstable nature of the current climate, the Opera Shop will continue its efforts to satisfy that uniquely human hunger for great art (as well as the little pleasures) and make a few friends along the way. Please peruse the website at your leisure with the challenges we face in mind as you make your purchase. Fulfillment of your orders may be delayed and because the supply chains are shaken, it may be necessary to take certain items off line. As it stands, we have a wonderful selection of San Francisco Opera merchandise on hand including a selection of our stunning in-house productions on DVD and Blu-Ray - perfect accompaniments to your stay at home.
Although we await with high hopes the next installment of our 2019-2020 season in June, please check with SFO here for the status of calendar events: https://sfopera.com/
We are still high on the coming season of sensations - daring, direct, delicious drama at its richest and deepest with world class performances. The season opens June 7 with Verdi's ERNANI, an early work that shows the Italian composer fully in command of the gifts that led to Il Trovatore and La Traviata! June 12 brings us Handel's delightful PARTENOPE, a serious comedy with more romantic complications than a play by Shakespeare. Finally, the West Coast premiere of Bay Area composer Mason Bates' THE (R)EVOLUTION OF STEVE JOBS. A CD recording of the production that will appear on the stage of War Memorial Opera House is available.
Look and listen to a few of our selections from the Opera Shop - or grab a memento of evening's performance - before or after a much-anticipated curtain! AND THANK YOU FOR MAKING OPERA A PART OF YOUR LIFE!
